A child’s special needs must not be an obstacle to his or her studies. All children have the right to learn and develop their skills. If a child has special needs, changes have to be made so it’s comfortable for the child to learn.
Let’s see how Veronika got help.
Veronika uses a wheelchair. She loves to play the piano. She wants to become a really good piano player. Veronika also practices the piano at home, but to learn more she has to go to music school.
Veronika goes to the music school admission exam with her mother. Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to get around the school in a wheelchair. Veronika’s mother has to lift the wheelchair. Otherwise, Veronika would not be able to enter the classroom where the admission test takes place.
Veronika starts playing the piano and she plays very well. However, the people on the committee are worried. They think that Veronika won’t be able to cope in the school because of her wheelchair. They don’t know how to adapt the music school building and classrooms for children with special needs.
But the commission also notes that Veronika plays the piano very well. Such a talented child certainly deserves the chance to learn more. The commission decides to admit Veronika to the music school. Together, they start looking for a solution to her concerns.
For the first time, a very talented child comes to the music school and needs special conditions to learn and move around the school building. Some rearrangements are made in the schoolhouse. Now, you can also move there with a wheelchair. Veronika is one of the best students at the music school!
